Maine Event Comedy presents “Maine’s Best Comedian” Connor McGrath at Island Dog Brewing, Saturday, March 2 at 8 p.m. The show will also feature Ali Simpson, John Sucich, Joe Flynn, and Andrew Della Volpe.

Twice voted “Maine’s Best Comedian” by readers of the Portland Phoenix, the delightful and cuddly McGrath jokes openly about his Asperger’s syndrome, which he describes as “low-class, high-functioning autism.” He recently opened for national headliner Jay Mohr and was part of San Francisco’s Mutiny Radio Comedy Festival.

Simpson was recently selected for Comedyfort in Boise, Idaho and Michigan’s 10-day LaughFest. She was also part of What a Joke, a nationwide fundraising event for the ACLU and recently made her television debut on the Nite Show with Danny Cashman.

Sucich is a Boston-area comedian who has performed throughout New England, New York City, the 2016 Cleveland Comedy Festival, and the 2018 North Carolina Comedy Festival. Audiences love his unique take on life as a husband, and father of three girls.

Flynn, a likable curmudgeon from Salem, Mass., recently performed at Comix at Mohegan Sun. He’s a two-time finalist in New England’s Best Bar Comic Contest and a runner-up in the Witch City Comedy Competition.

Della Volpe got his start in comedy as an intern at Sacha Baron Cohen’s Four by Two Films. Since graduating from Colby College in 2017, he has been performing regularly and trains in improv at ImprovBoston.

The show is free and for ages 21-and-older. Island Dog Brewing is located at 125 John Roberts Road in South Portland, Unit 15 on the backside of the building. FMI text 207-513-0742 or email
